Poisson de ligne & line caught Mackerel

Simpson Fish has built a number of partnerships with local inshore fisherman to bring you some of the very best Shetland fish possible.

Our ‘Poisson de Ligne’ brand and our line caught Mackerel is carefully selected from passionate fishermen who handle the fish with great care. The catch is sourced in areas around the coastline of Shetland and following gutting (expect in the case of Mackerel which is whole), it is iced down immediately. The fish is then brought shore for shipping – all in a matter of a few hours. This fish is among the freshest possible you can buy.

‘Poisson de Ligne’ is mainly derived from Cod but occasionally Pollock is available too. The name is chosen because the fish was sent initially to discerning customers in the Brittany region of France. Each fish can be individually tagged and is fully traceable. The line caught Mackerel season begins around June and can extend into November.
